As part of Anchor of Joy International's outreach program, we distributed scholastic materials to the pupils, including exercise books, pencils, and sports equipment such as footballs and netballs. The distribution was conducted in the presence of the headteacher and the teaching staff, whose support helped make the event meaningful. Through this initiative, Anchor of Joy International seeks to empower children by providing resources that promote education, teamwork, and healthy physical development.
Community Challenges
A Conversation That Touched Our Hearts
During our walk to the community borehole, we had the opportunity to speak with two women who openly shared some of the daily challenges their families face. One of the women told us that her husband is seriously ill and urgently needs medical attention, yet accessing healthcare is still a constant struggle. They also spoke about the difficulty of obtaining clean water. One of the women had walked more than two miles just to fetch water from the community borehole—a journey she makes regularly to provide water for her family's daily needs.
Their stories were a powerful reminder that for many rural families in Uganda, access to clean water and healthcare is not a convenience but a daily challenge. Listening to their experiences strengthened our commitment to continue supporting initiatives that improve access to safe water, healthcare, and hope for vulnerable communities.
